Church choir ~ Where people who love the Lord come together to make music. Members are eager to learn and allow me to take them on musical journeys of discovery.

Church choirs have a special place in my heart. This is a part of my career that I never saw coming. It began in graduate school when I was hired by Avondale UMC in Kansas City, MO, to direct the children and youth choirs, along with a yearly musical. Once I started directing worship music I never stopped. While we work on service music, I also use the time with my choirs as group voice lessons. I believe that almost anyone can sing, and learn to sing better at all stages of life.

On September 16, 2024, composer, organist and wonderful song-leader Mark Miller came to College Avenue UMC for an afternoon of Songs of Love, Hope and Joy. Pictured is the joint choir from College Avenue UMC, First UMC, First Presbyterian and Congregationalist.

Other churches I have worked with include Union Presbyterian in Brownwood, TX (adult choir), First Presbyterian in Flower Mound, TX (youth choir) and First UMC in Manhattan, KS (adult choir). Currently, I direct the adult choir at College Avenue UMC in Manhattan, KS.
